England Ladies’s top two table tennis stars wowed the crowds at a presentation night held at Chesterfield FC’s Proact Stadium.
The country’s number one, Kelly Sibley, and number two, Jo Parker, put on a show at the Chesterfield and District Table Tennis League’s annual awards evening.
The ceremony also saw teenage England international Sam Walker and local star Sam Perry do battle at the tables.
It was a successful night for the Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy.
Junior Girl of the year was won by Elise Beatson a talented young player from the Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy.
The Junior Boy of the year was won by Adam Jolley a star of the future also from Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy
The Player of the Tournament Award went this year to Chesterfield Champion Jake Meikle again of the Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy, who scooped five awards in the Chesterfield Tournament.
For contribution and commitment to the sport, Kevin Goodwin took the Niedernhausen Trophy.
League spokesman Mel Buxton said: “It was a great build up before the awards for the season 2012/13 were presented.
“Guest appearance and presenting the awards was Derek Oldman secretary of the Chesterfield League. The event was jointly sponsored by Certax Accounting and the Chesterfield League.
“A special mention must go to Eric Hall who put in the hard work organising the event and made the night so successful.”
Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy A team won the Division One championship.
Rowsley B team were crowned the Division Two champions.
Speedwell Table Tennis Academy C team took the honours in Division Three, while their D team won Division Four.
Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy K team took the Division Five title.
In a tense affair, Speedwell Table Tennis Academy D team defeated Colin Deaton Table Tennis Academy D team by six points to take the Swale Cup.
