Members of Killamarsh Arrows basketball team have been celebrating after reaching the national semi-final following an 83-78 victory over Welsh team Glamorgan Gladiators.
RB Clyburn and Joseph Baugh top scored with 26 and 22 respectively but it was the all around strength of the Arrows rotation that laid the foundation for the victory.
The Arrows had lost heavily in both regular season meetings to the Gladiators, the last at home just two weeks ago by 24, however the Arrows are hard to beat in a big encounter.
The first half was a tight affair but the Arrows reached the interval ahead 38-34 with Joseph Baugh and RB Clyburn catching the eye in attack although there were vital contributions from Andrew Purnell.
Killamarsh continued to maintain their intensity throughout the second-half as James Kelly drove through the defence and James Bamfield added consecutive three-pointers.
The Arrows led by 14 at one stage but a flurry of baskets by Nickson cut the lead.
A key three-pointer from Lisk-Carew secured the game for the Arrows who eventually iced the game as RB Clyburn made two free throws.
The Arrows move on and face another away trip in the semi-final Final at London Westside on the weekend of April 14 and 15.
