GB archer Andrew Randall made history this month when he became the first to retain a university title.

The Derwent Bowmen Archery Club member set a new individual record on his way to top spot in the men’s recurve bow at the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Indoor Archery Championships.

Randall, who attends the University of Nottingham, scored 593/600 shooting the Portsmouth round - 5 doz arrows from 20 yards distance at a 60cm target face.

The top four competitors in his category were all members of the Archery GB.

Nearly 600 participants took part at the championships held at the Telford International Centre.
