A thousand runners took part in the Bolsover 10k Road Race on Sunday.
After a two year gap, the North Derbyshire Running Club-organised event was back at Bolsover School.
In perfect weather for runners times were expected to be fast.
Richard Weir, of Derby, won the race breaking the course record by seven seconds to finish in 30-43 followed by Andy Ward, of Clowne, in 31.33.
Other good performances came from Andrew Thake, of Hallamshire, in 32.21; Stuart Spence, of Barrow Runners 32.41 and Ollie Teasel, of North Derbyshire, in 33 mins.
The ladies race was won by Calli Thackery in a time of 36.38.
Placed second was Abbey Norman, of Derby, in 36.53 while in third spot was Nicola Clay, of Stilton, in 37.41.
Other good times were posted by Nikita Pembleton, of Sutton, 39.09 and Christine Howard, of Matlock, in 39.59
