YOUR VIEW: Strict policy on roadside memorials to prevent hazard

I refer to your '˜tragic biker' report the Derbyshire Times.

You should be aware that Derbyshire County Council has a strict policy regarding the erection of roadside memorials. Roadside memorials are not allowed on the anniversary of an accident and the photograph in your report will encourage people to break the rules of the policy.

The policy has been carefully formulated in order to protect the rights of the wider community and to prevent the creation of a hazardous distraction to passing motorists on a busy main trunk road.
