Three years ago Gerry Smith from Peterborough who I served my National Service in the RAF with over fifty years ago 1957/59 rang me. He remembered I lived in Chesterfield, and that I had served my apprenticeship at Markhams, and somehow managed to get my phone number.

His wife originates from Derby, and knew Bakewell, so we met there and had a great few hours together (the wives getting along famously).

A couple of months later he had traced three more of the lads, John Connor, Terry Preston and Bob Clauson, and we all met at Gerrys and we had a great reunion.

Since then we have met up couple of times a year and still plenty of reminiscing and laughs to go at.
