Real care, not virtual

i am in full agreement with the letter, Computer Says No – Derbyshire Times, October 13).

I have been a home help for many years and I’ve never known such a lack of continuity!

Its only recently that service users have had to pay a contribution towards their care and since then they have had to put up with different call times and different carers.

They may receive four calls a day with a different carer each time and also each day. Ive also been told by my line manager that I dont keep to my rota times but i have known my service users for as long as ten years in some cases and I know their needs better than any computer.
