Punishing those in Chesterfield who don’t drink and drive

I am currently working in Chesterfield, and find it disgusting that people who have been for a drink on a Saturday evening and done the right thing by leaving their cars parked in the doughnut carpark instead of attempting to drive, are issued with parking fines at 8:02 am on a Sunday morning. That is exactly two minutes after the carpark starts charging.

Is the council so hard up they can’t allow a couple of sensible car owners the privelige of at least two hours grace to collect their cars without being penalised?

All this will achieve will be to encourage people to drink drive for fear of getting a parking fine!
