Recently my elderly husband had to abandon his mobile scooter on Rose Hill when the battery failed. With difficulty he managed to reach Marsden Street, having left his scooter. Fortunately, there was a police car nearby. My husband went over to the policeman in it to explain why his scooter had been left on Rose Hill, and that he would send help when he reached home. Immediately the officer went to retrieve the scooter, and insisted on pushing my husband home.
We were very impressed by the courtesy and concern of this officer, whose identity is unknown to us. Our grateful thanks go to him, and we hope this incident makes all of us realise just how much we owe to our policemen.
