Through your paper I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the paramedic and ambulance staff who attended when my son had a seizure at home on September 28.

He had not had one for eight years having been diagnosed with epilepsy in 2007.

The paramedic was here in two minutes and completely took control over the situation.

I realise they do this kind of thing every day but he really was quite brilliant and when you are worried sick about your family it is such a relief when they arrive and know exactly what to do.

The ambulance followed swiftly and my thanks also to these very kind and highly professional gentlemen.

Finally, I feel I must also say a very big thank you to the A&E department at King’s Mill Hospital where my son received first class care.

The young doctor who looked after him was very helpful, did all the relevant tests quickly and kept us all informed every step of the way.

So, thank you East Midlands Ambulance Service and King’s Mill Hospital - you scored 10 out of 10, be very proud of yourselves.
