Kindness of friends and strangers

COULD I please highlight the kindness and help offered by the people in Chesterfield, and our friends, on Wednesday, July 20, after my husband’s car broke down on Saltergate. We were on our way to an urgent hospital appointment when the unfortunate incident occurred and passing strangers asked if they could help in any way. The ages of these potential good samaritans varied from a mum with children accompanying her, to people of very pensionable age, and they were all pedestrians. Friends who also helped us out at this stressful time include Jenny and Geoff, who not only collected our three-year-old from his nursery, but cared for and fed him until we finally got home, and Roger, who offered transportation. The RAC guy was polite, informative and friendly. The thoughtfulness and help from all the above people - friends and strangers - cannot be over-recognised.
