In your feature on Elton John you mentioned other stars that had performed in Chesterfield. One that you missed was Pink Floyd, who I saw at St James Hall (Jimmy’s), on Vicar Lane, in 1969.

Although this was prior to their Dark Side of the Moon period, it was still surprising for such a major band to be playing Chesterfield in what was basically a church hall.

The support act that night was local band King Mob Echo. A couple of their members are still active in the local music scene as members of the legendary Pitz. Another former member is Derbyshire Times photographer, Terry Walden.
