Heritage project help

The Temple Normanton Parish council has recently launched a heritage project to research the history of our very ancient village, mentioned in the Domesday Book. Temple Normanton is also linked to the Knights Templars of the 11th Century.

We are planning an exhibition of our findings, and we would value the help of anyone who has, or had links with Temple Normanton, and may have photographs and other relevant information showing the village in past times.

In the 1960’s the community of Bonds Main in Temple Normanton was dispersed when the houses were condemned as a result of mining subsidence.

We would love to hear from past residents or their descendants who may have photographs, press cuttings or other memorabilia, which we would like, with the owners permission, to copy to include in the exhibition. We would welcome any information relevant to our village.

If you can help in any way, contact wither Stephen Wright (01246) 850210, or the Clerk to the Parish Council, Cait Stewart on 07964717590.

Chairman
