A mixture of topics have got readers writing in this week. Parking wars broke out on the letters page, Sunday trading hours prompted a debate and Macmillan issued a rallying cry to MPs. Here’s a round up of this week’s letters...

Matt Taylor responded to a concerned motorist’s letter last week (read “Mr Concerned’s” full letter here) about parking on Sanforth Street. Read Mr Taylor’s response here.

And a letter from John Hannett, General Secretary, Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (Usdaw), sparked a debate when he raised concerns about changes to shop opening times. Read his letter and the comments he provoked, here.

Elaine Wilson, Senior Macmillan Development Manager for the East Midlands, urged MPs to uphold the Lords’ amendments to the Welfare Reform and Work Bill. Read her letter in full here.

As always we want to hear from you on whatever is hitting the headlines and any other issues you want to write in about.
