Face Britain

WHILE in Windsor recently, I was notified of the Princes Foundation’s project called Face Britain.

They want every child in Britain to submit a self-portrait. Each and every one will become part of a record-breaking mosaic of the Queen, to be beamed on to Buckingham Palace to launch her Diamond Jubilee. The reason the project is using self-portraits is that it helps children explore their identity.

You can see more about this project on www.facebritain.org.uk.

I am hoping schools within Amber Valley will take up the challenge, it is free, and the children will be able to see where they are on the final mosaic, by logging on to the website.

The final date for the pictures is March 31.
