Centre is not so good for the disabled

Chesterfield town centre may be fine if you can walk, but, if you have mobility problems there are large areas of Chesterfield, for example, Lower Pavement with access to Boots etc, and the Vicar Lane Shopping centre that are impossible to park next to.

In the past it was possible to park outside Boots, Santander or Halifax before 10am and after 4pm, with a disabled parking permit and all day on a Sunday.

But now this is impossible because of new parking restrictions and not every body wants to use a shop mobility scooter.

Therefore Chesterfield town centre has become a no-go area for me.

Chesterfield Borough Council may want to encourage people to visit Chesterfield but it certainly doesn’t encourage disabled people.
