ON August 5, my 81-year-old disabled brother came into Chesterfield by car to pay his council tax, after parking in the disabled parking area opposite the town hall with his disabled parking badge on display. On returning to the car he found he had been issued with a £50 fine for not having his badge clearly displayed.
Is this the society we want to live in? Wthese people work for should be ashamed of themselves. A simple notice explaining that the badge needs to be clearly displayed should suffice or, at least, a little commonses should be used.
