The company says the £10 British Meat Pack, so-called because its meat only comes from animals farmed in the UK, contains:

A 900g Pork Loin Joint,

420g of Steak Mince,

450g of Lean Diced Beef,

And eight of “The Best” Pork Sausages.

But many people are not convinced, after we shared the story on our social media accounts earlier this morning.

Commenting on Facebook, Claire Coombes said: “Two weeks. I could make 3 dinners out of that little lot .”

And Sam Higginbottom added: “2 weeks?!? I’d eat that in 2 days by myself.”

Sarah Hodkin also said: “2 weeks, who are they kidding? Family of 6 and it would do 4 meals.”

Tricia Carver said: “It’s lovely but just 4 day’s still a good deal.”

Patricia Vivienne Kerley added: “Regardless of how long this pack of meat would last individual families, it is a great deal.....total of £13 for the tray of meat and a box of wonky vegetables.”

And despite the deal, many people seem to still prefer using their local butchers.

Joanne Steel commented: “Isn’t this what Meadowfresh and alot of other local butchers already do? Prefer to shop local and support our local stores.”
