YOUR SAY: How would Chesterfield vote if the EU referendum was today?

It's been more than seven months since Britain voted to leave the European Union and let's face it, we're still not much clearer on what the decision actually means.

There's been court cases and Parliamentary votes but it seems the people of Chesterfield are still of the same opinion they were back in June - that the UK should leave the European Union.

Of the 57,470 verified ballot papers in Chesterfield for June's referendum, more than 34,000 voters opted to leave the EU.

And when we asked you on our Facebook page last week how you would vote if the EU referendum took place now, hundreds of you had your say. Of those who got involved, 132 people said they would vote to remain a part of the European Union, while 206 people said they would vote leave.

Commenting on Facebook, Carole Pullen said: "Leave, that's what I voted and meant."

And Marlene Scott added: "Out! I am fed up with know it alls who think they know best telling me I didn't understand what I was voting for because my opinion is different from theirs. Complete arrogance."

But Andrew Thorp said: "I voted to stay in but the country has voted to leave so we must leave! Democracy in action! We should however give The Prime Minister the support as she was put in the back foot by Cameron who left her to tidy up so to speak. But leave is what a majority wanted."
