“He punched an internal door several times and caused a large hole.”

Povey told police he had been in a bad mood because of issues at work and at home but he offered to repair the door which has been broken several times.

The defendant pleaded guilty on October 5 to causing damage on September 15 to the door which belongs to his father Nigel Povey.

Defence solicitor Robert Sowter said: “He’s offered to replace the door and has shown genuine remorse.”

Mr Sowter added that Povey’s home life has been difficult.

Magistrates fined Povey £80 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
