Police are appealing for witnesses after a 24-year-old man claims he was punched and robed near the Lucky Star Chinese takeaway on High Street at about 9.40am on Wednesday.

He was unable to describe his attacker other than to say he was of large build.

Detective Constable Thor Long, who is investigating the allegation, said: "The town centre would have been quite busy at the time and I'd like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious.
