A young chef tragically took his own life in Derbyshire, a coroner has ruled.

Oliver Middleton, 24, of Smedley Street, Matlock, hanged himself at Stanton Moor on March 27.

Mr Middleton's inquest took place at Chesterfield coroners' court on Tuesday.

Recording a conclusion of suicide, coroner Peter Nieto said: "The court finds that Mr Middleton had undertaken a deliberate act with the intention of taking his own life due to the nature of the act and the location, and he had sent a text which reads as a suicide note.

"He did not give any forewarning of his actions and he had not been receiving treatment for depression or any other form of mental health problem."
