The Met Office is forecasting a very windy day for Derbyshire and the East Midlands today, Tuesday March 31, with a yellow warning in force until 7pm tonight.
The day will begin very windy with bright or sunny spells and blustery showers, which will be heavy in places and wintry across the Derbyshire Peaks. It will feel cold in the strong locally gale force winds. The maximum temperature will be nine degrees centigrade.
Tonight the winds will slowly ease overnight with scattered showers continuing, mainly over the Derbyshire hills. Sheltered eastern parts will become mostly dry with some good clear spells developing. The minimum temperature will be three degrees centigrade.
