Woman who died in A6 bypass crash named

A woman who died after a crash on the A6 Chapel-en-le-Frith bypass on Monday has been named as Anne Woodward.

Mrs Woodward, 78, was from the Marple area. She was the driver of a silver Fiat Panda which was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Zafira at around 2.25pm.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. The road was closed for around five hours while emergency services attended the scene.
