Woman jailed for shoplifting in Matlock

Teresa Spencer, 38, of no fixed abode, appeared before Chesterfield magistrates last Tuesday after being charged by police in connection with theft from stores in the town.

At about 3pm on Sunday, October 25, she entered the Co-operative Store on Firs Parade, placed alcohol from the shelf into her bag and left without offering payment.

And just after 5pm on Saturday, October 31, she and a man entered the service station on Matlock Green.

As the man distracted the customer at the till, the woman walked around the shop, placing items in her bag.

The pair then left the store with offering payment for the goods.
