Woman injures leg and shoulder while walking in Peak District

Edale Mountain Rescue Team were called to Burbage South on Sunday afternoon to help a woman who had slipped and hurt her leg and shoulder on the steep decent just below Carl Wark.

A team paramedic administered pain relief before she was put on a stretcher.

A spokesman said: “Because of her shoulder injury the lady was supported on the stretcher partially sitting instead of flat as we would usually carry. This helped alleviate some of her discomfort as she was carried back to the road head and to the waiting ambulance.”
