A woman suffered injuries to her face after being attacked by a robber as she walked to work.
The 42-year-old woman was punched in the face, her hair was pulled and her face was pushed in to the wall during the attack Birchwood Lane, in Somercotes.
She was walking to work past the church on Monday, October 15 at 6.30am when she felt someone grab her handbag.
As she struggled the robber punched her. She kicked him in the leg and he pulled her hair and forced her face in to the wall of the church yard.
He then ran off and did not steal anything.
The woman suffered brusing and swelling around her right eye and forehead.
She was taken to King’s Mill Hospital for treatment.
The man was described as around 6ft tall, large build, wearing dark clothing.
