A 68-year-old woman is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a crash on a major road in Chesterfield.
The woman, a pedestrian, was involved in a collision with a lorry on Markham Road just after 3.45pm yesterday.
Emergency services including police, paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said this morning: "The woman was taken to hospital where she is a serious but stable condition.
"The lorry driver will be spoken to later. He has not been arrested.
"The lorry has been seized by police. This always happens where there's been a serious collision as officers need to inspect the vehicle, including the tyres and brakes."
The collision caused traffic disruption across the area.
Witnesses should call police on 101.
