WINGERWORTH: Morning WI members win clothing

Ann Pearman, president of Wingerworth Morning WI, welcomed members to the February meeting. Apologies had been received from Dorothy Morris, Gladys Priestnall and Maureen Shaw.

The business included making arrangements for the birthday meeting to be held in March. An invitation had been received from Higham and Shirland WI and Cheryl Bell and Glenys Wilkinson would attend. Margaret Goodwin volunteered to be the delegate at the council meeting to be held at the Winding Wheel on March 5.

ue Hawkins displayed rails of clearance clothes from Izzi, in Baslow, from which members had the opportunity to purchase items.

The first two prizes in a raffle had been donated by Sue Hawkins. Wendy Sindall and Mavis Layton both won an item of clothing up to the value of £50. The draw continued and the winners were Ruby Hill and Glenys Wilkinson.

Members were reminded that the next meeting in March is the birthday meeting.
