It’s that time of the year again when kids start thinking about their Christmas wish lists.
And if the Toy Retailers Association’s predicted rundown of dream gifts is anything to go by, modern-day youngsters seem to be going retro.
Nostalgic favourites including Cabbage Patch Kids, Spiderman toys and Lego are among the timeless classics making the list.
Ashley Ryan, of the Toy Retailers Association, said: “This year’s list really combines the old and the new and there are quite a few toys from yesteryear that have been shaken up and reinvented.
“There are some toys that hold an enduring place in the hearts of children for generations and this year we’ve seen the toy industry overhaul a number of classic favourites.”
On the Derbyshire Times Facebook page, Sam Beardow said her little ones want Top Trumps playing cards for Christmas while a Bucky pirate ship is a must-have in Emily Barrie’s household.
