Live updates as rain warning upgraded to amber in Derbyshire

Today's weather warning has been updated to amber across Derbyshire.

Reports are coming in of flooding on roads in Derbyshire this morning.The Environment agency has issued flood warning for three rivers, and a rain warning has been upgraded to amber - the second most severe level.The rivers Wye, Erewash and Amber are at risk of flooding as the rain continues to fall.Motorists have been to take extra care and allow more time for their journeys, and be wary when driving into standing water.Follow our flood and weather live updates below:

A van driver is stuck in floodwater in Killamarsh: Van driver stranded as three ft of water floods Derbyshire road

Derbyshire Police have reported the following roads are closed:

Leathersley Lane, Scropton

Spinkhill Road, Killamarsh

Tom Lane, Duckmanton

They advise motorists to avoid the following roads due to flood water:

Syday Lane, Spinkhill

Pebley Ponds, Rotherham Road

The A617 is closed from M1 Junction 29 westbound all the way to Hornsbridge in Chesterfield due to flooding.

There are queues of traffic in both directions, but there is still access to J29 from Temple Normanton.

Bus services

The 11:45 77 bus from Worksop to Chesterfield is running approx 32mins later than scheduled.

Service 72 is operating normally to Renishaw then to, Eckington and Killamarsh and back same way, avoiding Spinkhill Road.

Derbyshire fire and rescue service

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service say they are currently receiving a high volume of calls regarding flooding within Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
