"Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland continues. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Ashford and Bakewell areas. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.

"Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Saturday evening. We are closely monitoring the situation.

"Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”

There is another warning in place for the River Amber around Ambergate, and in the south of the county a warning is in place for the River Derwent.

This comes as Derbyshire County Council reopened its flood hardship fund in the wake of flooding in the county earlier in January.
