Derbyshire High Street closed due to unsafe scaffolding

Police have closed Long Eaton High Street due to concerns over unsafe scaffolding.

Officers said the "unsafe scaffolding" has come loose due to the strong winds.

Storm Ciara has brought heavy rain and widespread gales to our region, causing potential delays and travel disruption.

A Met Office Amber warning of rain and of wind is in place until 9pm on Sunday (9 February).

Flood alerts are in place, and homes in some areas have suffered power cuts.
