13 of the best photos as Chesterfield is blanketed in snow

Heavy snowfall throughout the day has left Chesterfield, along with the rest of Derbyshire, blanketed in a thick covering of the white stuff.

There was heavy snowfall in Chesterfield

The snow caused travel disruption, school closures and difficulties with people getting their Covid vaccinations in some areas but it made for some picture postcard views while the opportunity to build snowmen and engage in snowball fights provided a welcome distraction from the ongoing lockdown.

Photographer Brian Eyre headed out to capture these brilliant images as Chesterfield was transformed into a winter wonderland.
