The Met Office has warned that there will be persistent rain across Derbyshire and the East Midlands today, Monday, November 17.

There is expected to be a wet and windy start with persistent rain. The rain will be heaviest over the Peak District, according to the Met Office, with extensive hill fog.

Forecasters predict the rain will become more showery later in the morning, perhaps allowing some brighter spells for many later.

By tonight showers are expected to become fewer and further between overnight, with clear spells developing for many, although the Peak District will retain some hill fog. The easterly wind will ease overnight.

Top temperatures have been given as ten degrees centigrade with lows of seven degrees centigrade.
