Weapons recovered after eight-hour police incident in Chesterfield

Police attended a street in Brimington after concerns were raised about a man.

Police have issued details about this incident.

Officers were called to Cherwell Close at 6.40pm yesterday.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: "There were concerns for the safety of a man who was later taken to hospital."

On Twitter, Derbyshire Armed Response Unit said it was an 'eight-hour deployment' and the 'subject eventually allowed us to get him medical help and weapons were recovered'.

Derbyshire Armed Response Unit said that weapons were recovered and tweeted this picture.

They added that the incident was 'brought to a safe conclusion' with support from police negotiators and paramedics.
