Severn Trent Water has begun work at its Hartington site on a project to improve the water quality of the River Dove.
Severn Trent and its contractors NMCNomenca have worked closely with local residents and are not expecting to have any major impact on traffic.
but it is reminding people that construction traffic will be using Stonewell Lane which leads to the site so there is a need for additional caution.
Steve Hinsley, senior programme engineer, said: “It’s always good to be involved in projects like this as it has such an impact.
“Improving the water quality in this way will be good for both the environment and for the local residents.”
The work is due to finish at the end of October this year and will see the installation of an aerated reed bed and alkalinity chemical dosing rigs.
