Walkers asked to survey wild birds
Peak District walkers are being asked to do their bit for a bird survey.
The Moors for the Future Partnership wants walkers to keep an eye out for three key moorland species – the swallow, red grouse and curlew – to find out how they are responding to climate change.
Anyone can take part and survey postcards can be collected at Peak District National Park visitor centres in Bakewell, Castleton, Edale or Derwent.
Alternatively they can be downloaded at www.moorsforthefuture.org.uk/bird-surveys.
Volunteers are also already involved in a bumblebee survey on the moors.
