Villagers tell of shock after bank robbery

Villagers have told of their shock after robbers stole a “substantial” sum of money during a morning raid at a bank.

Just before 9am this morning two men robbed the Royal Bank of Scotland on Main Road.

They made off with a substantial amount of money and left the bank carrying a holdall. They turned left out of the bank and made off towards the village.

They were described as scruffy, wearing hooded tops with the hoods worn up.

Members of the public are asked to contact police if they saw the men in the area at 9.05am this morning or saw anything suspicious last night (Wednesday, February 19).
