A number of fundraising events have been set up around the area including a football card, while staff at Tibshelf community School have set up an online fundraising page on the school’s website.

A family friend has arranged a car meet with stickers and a Just Giving donation page has also been created.

Staff at Town End Junior school are organising a staff collection for flowers and a number of businesses have offered to take in collections for the much-loved teenager.

Members of the community will also have the opportunity to come together and remember Connor at a memorial event at the Mission in Tibshelf at the end of March.

Connor’s aunt, Carolyn Revill, said: “Connor was a lovely, cheeky little lad and could always make you laugh.

“He loved going out with his friends - especially on his scooter to the skate parks. He had so much energy it was exhausting and he was starting to knuckle down at school as he wanted to go to West Notts college to do car mechanics with his cousin, Brandon.

“We will never forget him and he will be greatly missed - he was a very big part of all our lives.”

A motorist told how she had seen a man and a woman desperately trying to save the teenager at the scene of the collision on South Normanton’s Fordbridge Lane at about 8pm on February 19.

She said: “On the other side of the road there were two cars pulled up and a young lad was lying on the road and two adults were giving him CPR.

Following the incident a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

Police are asking any drivers who were in South Normanton from 7.40pm that night and who have dashcam footage of their journey to get in touch by phoning 101, quoting reference 17000073193.
