Officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team visited the village last week after residents raised concerns of motorists exceeding the speed limit.

The team carried out checks along Bar Road on Monday, August 1, and Friday, August 5, to monitor the speed of drivers and highlight the importance of abiding by the set speed limit.

On both days, all motorists were found to be driving safely and abiding by the 30mph limit.

PCSO Anthony Boswell from the village’s Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Speed checks like this are a great way for us to reinforce the importance of safe and considerate driving to help keep our roads safe for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

“We will be continuing to carry out speed checks over the coming weeks.”
