VIDEO: People of Amber Valley choose to stick with ‘strong Tory Government’, says Mills
In his acceptance speech, Mr Mills paid tribute to other candidates and said he was ‘honoured’ to have been re-elected.
It had been feared that Mr Mills would lose his seat to Labour’s Kevin Gillott, but was eventually re-elected with a significantly increased majority.

Hide AdHe said: “What we’ve seen here today is that the people of Amber Valley have chosen to continue with a strong Conservative Government to take the country in the right direction.
“I am very honoured and very privileged to be elected for a second term to represent the people of Amber Valley.”
Mr Mills received a total of 20,160 votes, compared to Mr Gillott’s 15,901.
UKIP beat the Liberal Democrats into fourth place - securing 7,263 to the Lib Dem’s 1,360 votes. The Green Party came in fifth with 1,087 votes.
