“We went to the hospital about four times.

“The contractions were increasing and slowing down and the pain relief was slowing the contractions down.”

He said eventually Mandeep had an epidural, which helped, however at the last minute the doctors told Mandeep she would have to have a Cesarian as the baby’s heart rate had dropped.

Sunny was not allowed in the operating theatre while the procedure took place.

The baby, who the couple has named Syras, is now doing well.

“He’s fantastic,” Sunny, who added. “He’s crying, sleeping, crying, sleeping.”

He gave his thanks to the team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital who helped bring his son into the world.
