VIDEO: Fair goers rescued from Proact ride

Several fairground goers had to be rescued from a ride at Chesterfield FC's Proact Stadium on Friday evening.

The Speed XXL ride got stuck in the middle of its cycle leaving the thrill seekers aboard high above the ground and unable to get off.

Two fire crews were dispatched to the scene where they worked with the ride operators to activate a safety mechanism which allowed them reach the people aboard.

No-one was injured in the incident which is believed to have been caused by a computer fault.
