A drug raid has been carried out at a suspected cannabis farm in Hasland.

The raid took place at around 10.30 this morning (Tuesday, February 14) at a property on Hasland Road opposite Eastwood Park.

Neighbours spoke of the ‘overpowering’ smell of cannabis from the property in recent months.

They added that the young couple that had moved into the property 18 months ago had not been seen for some time.

Officers conducting the search said they had executed a drug warrant under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

A police spokesperson confirmed they had found equipment related to cannabis production during the raid.
