Visitors to Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens were given a fright as they came face to face with a prehistoric beast.
Tyson the Tyrannosaurus Rex turned heads - and the clock back - as he roared into town on Friday.
Eyewitnesses spotted the ‘creature’ roaming the promenade of the Gardens, before taking cover behind the hanging baskets outside Buxton’s historic Opera House.
The 18 foot-long T-Rex was in Buxton to promote the upcoming show Jurassic Adventures, which comes to the Water Street theatre on Thursday August 27.
Set on a magical island, this brand new interactive production follows the footsteps of Doctor Grant’s team of explorers in search of proof that dinosaurs are alive today.
Suitable for ages three-plus, the family show is said to feature “mild peril and huge dinosaurs”.
Performances will take place at 2pm and 5pm on August 27, and tickets, priced £16 for adults and £14 for children, can be purchased on 0845 127 2190 or at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk. Family tickets are also available.
