VIDEO: Crowds flock to L’Eroica Britannia, Bakewell

Thousands of cyclists descended upon Bakewell for a vintage event with a difference.

L’Eroica Britannia came to Britain for the first time ever at the weekend – attracting 2,000 cyclists and 30,000 people to cheer them on and enjoy the vintage–themed stalls and entertainment on offer at Bakewell showground.

Sally Clark, one of the organisers, said: “One highlight was the riders setting off from Bakewell at 6am for a hundred mile bike ride, which was incredible. Lots of residents and businesses came to cheer them.

“Another major highlight was when the riders came back into Bakewell.”

There were stalls, fairground rides and live entertainment to amuse all ages, as well as prizes in categories such as best dressed and best moustache, as judged by one of the founders of Movember Adam Garone.
