VIDEO: 73-year-old targeted by distraction burglar at her Chesterfield home

Police investigating a distraction burglary at the home of a 73-year-old woman in Chesterfield are re-appealing for witnesses.

Derbyshire Police are looking for this man in connection with a burglary in Chesterfield.

CCTV footage released by the police, shows a man, who claimed to be from the local council, enter the victim’s home and steal her handbag.

The burglary happened between 11.40am and 11.55am on Monday February 15 at a bungalow on Boythorpe Road. The burglar went into the woman’s home on the pretext of talking to her about plans for the garden and after speaking to her for about ten minutes, snatched her bag from beside her chair.

Her purse was found at 12.30pm, the same day, at the roadside on West Street near the junction with Foljambe Road.
