The organisation behind a winter night shelter project for Chesterfield's homeless people is in need of a vehicle.

Eight local church venues will take part in the initiative, which is being led by Derby City Mission and will operate between December 1 and March 31.

Phil Morton, head of relief of poverty at Derby City Mission, said: "With just over a week to go we are in desperate need for a vehicle to help us transport the equipment between the venues and a warehouse we are going to be using.

"We are looking for a large estate car or small van.

"We only need it for the four months from the beginning of December to the end of March."

If you can help, call Mr Morton on 07870737183 or email him on phil@derbycitymission.org.uk

Mr Morton added that nearly 100 volunteers have come forward for the project and donations continue to flood in.
