Police say there are ‘no suspicious circumstances’ after a man collapsed and died on a Chesterfield street.
The incident - which happened at around 9pm on Saturday evening - took place near Eastwood Park in Hasland.
EMAS sent two fast response vehicles and an ambulance to the scene before conveying the casualty to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Witnesses told the Derbyshire Times the entire area was cordoned off until around 8am this morning.
A police spokesperson has now told the Derbyshire Times, however, that there were ‘no suspicious circumstances’ surrounding his death.
The spokesperson explained that the cordon remained in place until this morning because the man’s identity was not yet known.
Overnight, however, the man’s relatives contacted Chesterfield Royal and the hospital then informed police.
The man is believed to have died as a result of a cardiac arrest.
